New Iron Man 2 Trailer

Here is the new "Iron Man 2 Trailer"

Tron: Legacy

Here is the trailer for "Tron: Legacy", the new sequel that is 28 years after the original "Tron" from 1982. I am super excited about this one. ;p They even brought back Jeff Bridges (Kevin Flynn) and Bruce Boxleitner (Alan Bradley) to reprise their original roles.
I just watched the first "Tron" again today and I can't wait to see what they can do in the sequel with today's technology. Here is the trailer:

Shutter Island - Matty Review

Shutter Island is directed by Martin Scorsese and is staring Leonardo DiCaprio (U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels), Mark Ruffalo (U.S. Marshal Chuck Aule), Ben Kingsley (Dr. Crawley), Max von Sydow (Dr. Naehring), Michelle Williams (Dolores), Emily Mortimer (Rachel), Jackie Earle Haley (George Noyce), John Carroll Lynch (Deputy Warden McPherson), and Ted Levine (Warden). Shutter Island is based on the novel by Dennis Lehane (who also wrote the novel Mystic River) and was adapted for the screen by Laeta Kalogridis.

The movie is set in 1954 and opens up with Teddy Daniels and his new partner Chuck Aule on a ferry to Shutter Island. The Island is home to a mental hospital for some of the most dangerous criminally insane. One of the inmates, Rachel, has escaped from a locked room and is loose on the island. Teddy and Chuck are there to find out how she escaped and to bring her back.

That is all I feel comfortable telling everyone about the story. I don't want to accidentally give away anything. Shutter Island is the most Hitchcockian film I've seen since Hitchcock, I am questioning whether or not Scorsese did a séance to bring Hitchcock's spirit into himself for this film. The story, the cinematography, the camera angles, the editing, and the music all scream Hitchcock and made me a very happy movie goer. ;p

I was particularly impressed by the editing. The editing choices added greatly to the story and makes the audience question reality, which makes the twist in the movie have more power for the viewer. Shutter Island will defiantly be a contender for the next Academy Awards and rightfully so.

The only problem I had with the movie, which really is not a big problem, is that the beginning felt like it moved kinda slow while I was watching it. But, after I finished the movie I was glad that the beginning moved at that speed and that it should have been that slow to build up the characters and the suspense. It made the ending better and more powerful.

I give Shutter Island 4.75 out of 5 stars.
